Those are NOT weeds

The boys were playing in the yard after doing the lovely chore of spraying my plants with peppermint rabbit-repelling scent and found a large, walking-stick-sized tree limb.  Awesome!  They played staff with it for 2 minutes until it snapped in half.  Two dangerous weapons for the price of one.  More awesome! So FUN to smack things with!

Nevertheless, I hollered, "Boys! Time to come in for the night!"

"But Mom!, we're HELPING you out!  Just let us finish killing these weeds!" Bam! Whack! Swoosh!

Huh? They were standing at my meticulously cared-for front step flowerbeds.  Wait a minute....there are no weeds over there.... "Hey! Stop! Stop!  WHAT are you attacking?"

"We're getting rid of all this stinging nettle!"

"That's not stinging nettle, those are DAISIES!"  At least you didn't kill my plants ON ACTUAL Mother's Day.

Guy was a good sport and hung around long enough to learn the names of a few new plants...hopefully that will prevent him from accidentally weeding any of them. Yeah, they do look like weeds until they bloom.  (columbine, poppy, calendula, daisy, primrose, bee balm...you can pull the dandelion).
