Aztalan

As part of our weekend getaway to legendary Lake Mills, we visited Aztalan, the ancient ruins, with the Ritters. It's hard to imagine what life was like in 1300 and I'm so happy I live now instead of then! I'm happy Annie had the camera...I almost never get to be IN photos!


Dirty face means fun day, right?


The kids pretended there was a crocodile in the river. Xander picked up Zoe and started chanting "oh, great river croc, accept this offering!" but she squirmed away before the actual sacrifice. They don't know it, but that might be more accurate to life in 1300 than they suppose.








Guy invented a fun follow and sing and clap and run game. I couldn't explain it beyond that.


Friday was crazy hair day and the red paint is the leftovers.
