I bought these groceries for $41.98 on Saturday. The shelf prices for these items add up to $243.52, which means I paid 17.2% of the shelf prices. Oh, also not pictured or included in the calculation are the 3 gallons of milk and 4 dozen eggs that I will get for free next time I go shopping (buying the cereal yields coupons for free eggs and milk.)
This is a popular past-time among couponistas...posting results! I use www.pocketyourdollars.com to get my grocery lists and websites for the coupons I print out. (I have 3 computers at home that I use for printing coupons.) There is another site called www.grocerygame.com that gives the same info, but you'd have to pay to be a member, so I don't use that site, but I still refer to what I do each week as "the grocery game." Xander is an excellent helper when I shop!
In this picture you'll see 24 boxes of cereal, 6# of cheese, 24 boxes of Jolly Time healthy popcorn, 8 packs of Capri Sun, 9 cans of soup, some yogurt, cookies, gum, pens, PB and J, and nectarines. You do know I have huge shelves for food storage in my basement, right?
