Curse of the Left Ankle

About a week and half ago, I took a tumble while playing racquetball and twisted my left ankle.  I won the point! But lost the match.  I was okay, but had to forfeit racquetball for about a week until my ankle was feeling great again.

Well, that SAME afternoon, Xander was playing in a soccer game (and playing pretty well!) until he and David both went for the same ball and had a big collision.  Xander fell and twisted HIS left ankle.  His was worse, with swelling and bruising and a painful sprain.  He used crutches for 2 days and then limped around for a week, and I had to cancel his YMCA basketball camp.  Now it's been close to 2 weeks and he's almost, but not quite, back to normal.

Well, earlier this week, while jogging, my husband fell and twisted HIS left ankle!  His was worst of all.  First, he had to walk 2 miles to get back to his office, then he had to bike 7 miles home with an extremely painful ankle.  (I had some 800 mg ibuprofen left over from childbirth...never know when you're gonna need it.)  The next day he went and had it x-rayed, and was told there's a broken bone!  So now he has a cast and crutches and is very bummed out to have to plan a summer with no running (and no biking for a while, either).

I'm on my way now to pick up Guy from his soccer practice...let's all just pray that I don't find any injuries when I get there!!  Who has set the awful curse of the left ankle on my family?!?

My mom and I both have a habit of twisting our right ankle. Genetics is a powerful thing! Eep.
