I had a chance to meet Guy's class for the farmer's market walking field trip. After walking a few miles, each student was only allowed to spend $2, so they had to carefully choose what to buy (and decide is it cheaper to buy per lb or per item when buying apples?). Afterward they walked to a nearby park for some playtime. Perhaps my favorite part will be the the wrap up: the class goes back and creates their own farmer's market with items for sale (made of paper mache and paper craft) so they can get even more practice making change and conducting transactions with the other classes.
Guy bought some Fireside apples and we all love that rare variety. He also picked up some banana bread and a small, decorative gourd.
