While grocery gaming on Wednesday, there was one transaction that was particularly fun. General Mills was having a deal that if you buy $25 worth of GM products, you get $10 off your order (not a freakishly good deal yet). Starting Thursday, the deal would change to...buy 6 boxes and get coupons for lots of free stuff.
So, I bought 8 boxes of cereal (3.69 each on sale for 2.99 each with a 0.55 coupon for each one with 5 coupons getting doubled), got the $10 off, and spent $2.85.
Then, magically and unexpectedly, the register also printed out my coupons for
-1 free gallon of milk
-1 free box of toaster strudel frozen pastries
-1 free dozen eggs
-4 free 8oz yogurt cups
So, for less than 3 bucks I got breakfast for the family for a week. Yay!
