Last weekend I was in AZ visiting my AWESOME cousins Lori and Curt and their kids. The question came up (this is not the first time), being that I cook only vegetarian meals at home, WHAT does a Weibel eat?
And so I have decided to keep a little list of what we're eating and when it gets to be 100 items long I shall stop. We just got our first delivery from the UW student-run CSA (community supported agriculture) share that we bought, so a lot of the items may seem a little strange. Er, that is, I honestly never eat kale or collards, unless it comes from the CSA and then I feel that I mustn't waste it.
I'll try to avoid posting repeats...we do eat the same favorites over and over.
14. Penne with creamy walnut sauce, originally from Moosewood Restaurant Low-Fat favorites, but memorably popularized in Paris by the Hammond family. Banana bread.
13. Pigs-in-blankets (veggie dogs). Cut up veggies and dip. (This is our picnic while watching Rhythm-n-Booms)
12. Quesadillas: veggies, blackbeans, sauteed greens, cheese, salsa, etc. Cooked nice 'n' crispy.
11. Scrambled macaroni (scrambled eggs with noodles in it, cheese on top)
10. Blueberry waffles with toppings. Veggie sausage.
9. Homemade Cajun black bean veggie burgers. Store-bought buns. Salad.
8. Collard Green + Cheese Casserole (recommended from Amy Photopoulos)
7. Coleslaw (from kohlrabi..was even better than cabbage slaw). Pizza. Salad.
6. Thai Panang Curry with tofu. Rice. Sliced bell peppers and cucumbers.
5. Veggie omelets. Soy sausage. Wheat toast.
4. Giant burritos (black beans, rice, corn, salsa, etc.). Lettuce salad. Rhubarb/strawberry crisp.
3. Pizza (with kale!). Sauteed swiss chard and mustard greens with ginger and carrots.
2. Black bean soup. Corn bread. Carrots.
1. Vegetable lasagne (broccoli, carrots, tomatoes). Salad.

weibels,
love the list. It would be greatly beneficial to society if we all made 100 item long lists detailing certain seemingly mundane aspects of our lives. Every time I try to find old granola eating friends from Ithaca, I find them in Madison. My list would be: "100 former Ithacans and where they currently purchase their bulk almond butter"
